  1. FORGOTIT.EXE is a small Windows 95 desktop utility who has the same usage than
  2. the original trademark "Post It".
  3.  
  4. Forgot-It is useful for keeping notes and reminders on your Windows 95 desktop,
  5. rather than on hard to find little pieces of paper.
  6.  
  7. Forgot-It is shareware.  The price is U.S.$15

  11. To install Forgot-It, simply unzip FORGOTIT.ZIP in a directory.
  12. Then right-click on FORGOTIT.INF and select Install....
  13.  
  14. You can too uninstall Forgot-It by the standard way...
  15. (ControlPanel/Application/Remove)

  21. A little yellow icon is placed on the Taskbar when Forgot-It is launched.
  22.  
  23. Click the LEFT mouse button on the yellow Forgot-It Taskbar icon to open the
  24. Forgot-It window.
  25. Clicking the RIGHT mouse button on the Forgot-It Taskbar icon will open
  26. a configuration menu.

  31. The following Shortcut Keys will function in the open Forgot-It window :
  32.  
  33. ESC : Minimize the Forgot-It Window to the Task bar icon
  34. F2  : Save NOW the contents of Forgot-It. (Default is saved when closing Forgot-It)
  35. Alt-F4 or Alt-X : Exit Forgot-It
  36. Ctrl-A : Select All
  37. Alt-F  : Select default Font.
  38. Alt-L  : load an external file, and put it a the cursor.
  39. Alt-S  : save the note to an external file
  40. Ctrl-D : Date in short format
  41. Alt-D  : Date in long format
  42. Ctrl-T : Time
  43. F1 : Help
  44. F2 : Save now!

  48. The open Forgot-It window will cycle through 10 different pages.
  49. Click on the left and right arrows next to the page numbers to cycle
  50. through the pages.

  52. You can open 4 different Forgot-It windows.

  56. Forgot-It will allow you to set alarms. To set an alarm, insert, in the note,
  57. the DATE that you want the alarm to activate, as follows:

  59. @01/12/96 (European format)
  60. or
  61. @12.01.96 (U.S.A. format)

  63. The note will appear with an alert box when the day is reached. (The examples
  64. above will generate an alarm on December 1, 1996.)
  65. Then Forgot-It will replace the '@' symbol with the '#' symbol indicating
  66. that the date for the alarm has passed.

  68. When the alarm occurs, an alart box is displayed, with the text following the alarm.
  69. i.e @01/12/96 Essai d'alarme

  71. If immediatly following date of the alarm, you put '-13:00' i.e, it will make alarm
  72. at 13hours 00 mins...

  75. @12.01.96-14:30 will alarm the First December 96, at 14h30

  80. If you don't want the Forgot-It icon to appear on the Taskbar when the
  81. Forgot-It Window is open, you can remove it.
  82. To do this, edit POSTIT.INI (in the Windows directory), by adding the
  83. following line in the [Post-It] section:

  87. When you restart Forgot-It, the Forgot-It Icon will not appear in the Taskbar,
  88. and the menu bar on the open Forgot-It window will be a little smaller.

  92. About color selection :

  94. Windows don't enable every colors for an Edit-Window...Only no-dithered colors
  95. are useable for Edit-Windows when you are in 16colors or 256colors....
  96. If you select a bad color for Forgot-It, you should get 2 colors in the
  97. edit window : 1 for text, and one other for background...
  98. (Difficult to explain : Try by yourself...)
